Elimite side effects you should know

Since Elimite is a topical medication most of your adverse reactions will be associated with skin. If after applying Elimite you experience such serious side effects as swelling of your face, hives, difficulty breathing, redness, stinging, swelling, or severe burning, contact your health care provider right away. This is not normal and your skin is not supposed to react to this medicine in that way. When you call your doctor make sure you describe how everything happened and how much of Elimite you were applying. Every little detail is important, as it will help your doctor understand why such reactions occurred. However, serious reactions described above are really rare and happen if something was done wrong by the patient. Less serious side effects are also possible (and in fact more likely) and can include numbness, itching, stinging, tingling, mild burning, mild skin rash, and redness.

The mild side effects of Elimite may be unpleasant, but they are unlikely to last for too long and will most probably go away without any need for your health care provider to intervene. However, in some cases the symptoms described can get more severe and interfere with your everyday activities. If you feel something is wrong, and the mild side effects you originally had get bothersome and intensify with every minute – calling your health care provider is the best thing to do. If you think you may have used too much of this medicine, seek emergency medical help. The symptoms of Elimite overdose are not known. However, it’s not recommended to apply this medicine in thicker payers that recommended. This is unlikely to make your treatment more efficient and can lead to unpleasant side effects. Unless your health care provider recommended otherwise, avoid using other skin products to make sure Elimite is effective and nothing interferes with the success of your treatment. This is not supposed to be too difficult, considering the fact you will need to use Elimite just once.

If you are required an additional application of Elimite, make sure your doctor knows about it and thinks it’s really necessary. In general, however, very few people are likely to get any side effects at all. This medicine has been specially formulated to kill parasites without harming the skin and causing too may unpleasant side effects, so there is no need to worry about them getting more severe. However, it’s very important to tell your health care provider about any other symptoms that are not listed above, especially if those are not just some local symptoms, like rash and itching. Any symptoms you develop after taking Elimite should be checked by your doctor to see if they are serious and indicate something has gone wrong and your treatment is not efficient as you hoped it would be.
