Elimite safety information
Elimite is a topical medication that you will be supposed to use exactly as prescribed. Although it is considered to be relatively safe, there are a number of things you will need to know before application. Talking to your health care provider before starting the treatment is very important, as you will need to make sure there are no contraindications in your particular case. Any contraindications that you have can be important, and in some cases you may even be unable to take Elimite safely. It’s up to or health care provider to decide whether you can benefit from taking Elimite or some other remedy needs to be found. Elimite is FDA pregnancy category B. This medicine is not expected to do any harm to an unborn baby, but it is known that Elimite can pass into breast milk. Elimite is not supposed to be given to infants younger than 2 months. Talk to you health care provider if you think your child needs to be using this medicine. Pregnant and breastfeeding women must talk to their health care provider about the situation they have and decide whether potential benefits outweigh possible risks for the mother and the baby. If you get pregnant while using Elimite – contact your doctor and ask for further instructions to see what needs to be done. Until your scabies or lice infection has cleared up you are not supposed to have sexual contact to avoid passing the parasites to the other person. Both these infections are very contagious and it’s very easy to pass them to some other person. Try to use objects of personal hygiene without sharing them with anyone, as the parasites can be passed with pretty much anything. Since Elimite is a topical remedy, it’s unlikely to interact with any other medicines you are using. However, it’s important for your doctor to know which other drugs you may be taking. Some of them can in fact make you feel worse as a result of interacting with Elimite – so it never hurts to carry a list of all the drugs you are using at the moment. Use Elimite exactly as recommended by your health care provider and avoid applying more of it than necessary. Always tell your doctor if you think Elimite is not going to be efficient for you due to any reasons, as then your treatment plan may need to be reconsidered. Never share your Elimite with other people to whom it was not prescribed, until they are your sexual partners or family members. Make sure you follow all the recommendations of your health care provider and in case of having any questions – d not hesitate to contact him about taking Elimite right. Not all people success after taking Elimite for the first time – your course may need to be repeated once again. In most cases this may have to do with the fact you did not follow all the directions and not all the parasites have been cleared out. In that cases try to do your best in order to get all the benefits of Elimite treatment and eliminate the parasites effectively.
